Mission Statement
Happypawz is a family orientated business on the outskirts of Palmerston North, dedicated to the welfare and happiness of cats and dogs left in their care. The main objective is to give the animals a “home away from home” atmosphere, with loves and cuddles, exercise and most of all a stress-free environment.

Shar is our amazing helper who loves animals as much as we do. She is super friendly and is fantastic with your pets, giving them love and cuddles every chance she gets. You can be rest assured that your pets are in great hands. She is willing to learn all the time and it is great to see her confidence and experience grow each week. Welcome to the team Shar.
In 2008 we made a life changing decision to buy a Kennel & Cattery. I had worked in various jobs before that but had not achieved my passion of working with animals. I qualified with a diploma of animal care when my children were very young in the hope of one day living my dream. 12 years later I am still living it and enjoying every 4 pawed animal that comes to stay at Happypawz. Presently we have 2 cats named Meekah and Gracie, one German Shepherd called Mischa and a chihuahua called Bolt. Over the years we have had various other pets so have always had a fur baby in our lives. We understand how hard it is to leave your pet with a stranger but I can assure you that they will be looked after with all the love and kindness that we have for our own. I am very lucky to be doing this full time
After coming from a panel beating background with a love of cars, I now teach welding and engineering at UCOL. I too have a passion for animals and it is great to be able to enjoy your pets after work, at weekends and during holidays. I enjoy the interaction with our regular customers and like to meet new people bringing in their pets for the first time. While I am more a dog person than a cat person every animal here at Happypawz is well looked after by both Cindy and myself.
